This lakeside hut is my first private construction project on our family-owned lakeside property in the south of Chile. The unique direct lake location invites to use the view. Crucial is the use of local resources, i.e. wood and labour. Due to the humid climate and to protect the wood, the innovative idea to use the wood burning method Shou Sugi Ban, originally from Japan, was born. The project is still ongoing.
